"SHINE ON little star" is a non-profit project providing free one hour photo sessions to Marlborough families with children from newborns to 14 year olds, who are dealing or have dealt with any type of serious medical condition or special needs.
Anyone can nominate such a child, either mum or dad themselves or someone who knows of a little star and would love to surprise the family with a professional photo shoot ( please make sure the family is happy to share personal information with us first).
A session through the "SHINE ON little star" project will include one hour of photography on location, either in the families home or in a park, at the beach or the child's favorite spot anywhere in Marlborough.
The aim is to let your little star shine in some special photos, but a session can include a few images of the whole family (parents and siblings) too.
Each family will get about 15 photos on a high resolution CD, to be able to print as many photos as they like whenever they like.
There will be a waiting list, so please allow about 4 weeks waiting time for your session, once your child is accepted.

We will then send you a simple application form and will ask you to fill it in and send it back with a recent photo of the little star.
You are welcome to nominate your preferred photographer from our team and we will always do our best to match you accordingly, but we cannot guarantee availability in all cases.
You can expect to hear back from us within 3 days.
We would love to share the story of your little star on this blog, to inspire people, to give credit to the amazing children in our community (as well as their parents and siblings), and to give other families hope, if your child has beaten the odds, or love and support, if your little star is terminally ill.
You will be asked to sign a release form for your photos and story to be shared by us.
If for any reason you would rather keep your privacy and not share your story and photos, please let us know when you apply. You will still be eligible for a free session !

If you are a family outside of Marlborough, but can travel to Blenheim or Rarangi for a session, you are welcome to apply too.
